When we hit the start button on your new short term goals, we must also hit the focus button as well.
Let's say for example that our short term goal is to run a 4 minute mile. Once we have started running, we
can not pull over to the side of the track to check our face book, and then
start running some more, and then stop running again to call your friend and expect to finish the mile in
4 minutes. Our short term goals, take longer to finally achieve because we are getting distracted.
As we become distracted we drift away from our focus, and focus is the main skill needed to succeed.
The key action needed to get to where you are going, is simply to get up and go. There must be a starting point. A rock can become polished into a beautiful stone, when beaten by the ocean waves from the first day, until thousands of years later. Nothing starts off finished. Everything has a starting point. If we never get up and go, we can't evolve into what we want. If you chose to become a good tennis player, you would need to start off with playing one game of tennis. On the first hit you may be all over the place, but when played every day for a year, your skills will have enhance. It's really about expanding, over time from the moment you hit the start button in areas of your life. When you allow yourself the time needed to grow into your success you would know what it feels like to be truly successful.
